The Paris Flea Market
This inspiring stroll through Paris's mythic flea market spotlights a fascinating array of influential vendors--revealing their unique wares, trade secrets, and the life-changing finds on sale there.
The Paris Flea Market has been a mecca for designers and collectors all over the world for over 150 years. A village within a village, its bustling alleyways and hidden corners are home to over two thousand stands that collectively offer a masterclass in the history of art, craft and design.
This book profiles twenty or so of the market's key dealers, inviting readers into their worlds and revealing the hidden workings of their trade. Vibrant double-page spreads immerse readers in this little- known world. With expertise and specialties ranging from mid- century modern and Art Deco, to Memphis Milano and Louis XVI, these antique and second-hand dealers drive the market's rich and eclectic profusion, not only preserving the history of the decorative arts, but also shaping future design trends.
At once a promenade through Paris' most epic antique, collectibles, curiosities, fashion, and design market; an ode to upcycling and a paean to the thrill of the flea market find; this extraordinary book will inspire both weekend bargain hunters and design professionals alike.

Paris au Flaneur
I invite you to join me for a Paris walking tour au flaneur as we wend our way from one side of Seine beginning with a discussion of the importance of the café in Parisian life and the luminaries like Sartre, de Beauvoir, Camus, Juliette Greco and Miles Davis who filled them to the other, pausing to enjoy the obvious (the Louvre) and the slightly hidden (Galerie Vivenne.)
I am a reader of the Paris Insider and prior to the Martin Walker tour in April, my friend, Ellen, and I did the flaneur tour with Terrance. We met him at Las Deux Magots and spent a lovely day walking around Paris, seeing areas we would not have visited on our own. We particularly enjoyed lunch at one of his favorite cafes and seeing the beautiful Galerie Vivienne. Terrance is one of the most widely read individuals I have ever met. His wealth of information is incredible as attested to in his newsletter. It was a delight to meet him and see parts of Paris through his eyes.Melanie --Chicago
